Hi! My name is Haley Johnston, and I’m currently attending school to become a special education elementary school teacher. Working with children has always been my passion!!! I’m the type of person who, at any event, goes straight to play with the kids! I’m 21 years old, energetic, and truly love helping children learn and grow through meaningful experiences. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have worked at several preschools in the area and with a science education program for kids called Sierra Nevada Journeys. Over the years, I’ve had countless nanny and babysitting jobs, caring for children of all ages. I also love to volunteer with churches and programs that support kids in need. My experiences have strengthened my passion for helping children learn, grow, and feel cared for in a positive environment.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love spending time with kids and creating fun, meaningful experiences together. Some of my favorite activities include arts and crafts, going to the park, playing outside, and dress-up or imaginative play. I also enjoy reading stories, building with blocks or Legos, doing science experiments, and helping with homework when needed. Whether we’re exploring nature, making something creative, or just laughing and being silly, I always aim to make every day fun, safe, and full of learning.

My experience with special needs children...

I have had meaningful experience working with children with special needs. I was a caregiver for a child with a brain disease, and although he sadly passed away, that experience deeply shaped my heart and strengthened my passion for helping others. I also worked as an aide in the Strategies class throughout middle and high school, supporting students with diverse learning and behavioral needs. These experiences inspired me to pursue a degree in special education, where I hope to continue making a positive difference in the lives of children who need extra care, patience, and understanding.
