A little bit about me

Hi! I am a full time nanny looking for a long term position in New York & am studying clinical psychology online. I have worked in childcare for around 7 years, beginning with babysitting on weekends as a high schooler, then working as a daycare teacher for 2 years with children ranging from ages 3 months old to 5 years old. I have nannied for two families. Currently, I am living in Sevilla, Spain working as a live in Aupair for a family with three children, ages ranging from 16 months, 4 & 8 years old. I provide active listening, empathy, and safe spaces for all the children I take care of to explore their surroundings, ask questions and feel confident, capable, nurtured, & self assured according to the family’s wishes. I am more than comfortable with family pets & performing household duties. I speak both English and Spanish & am happy to include language lessons as the family desires. The most important part of being a nanny for me is helping the children to feel safe, understood, taken care of and most importantly: LOVED.

My experience with special needs children...

I cared for my cousin with special needs for 3 years while in high school as a babysitter & children in the daycare I worked at as well. I choose to approach special needs children no differently, just with extra understanding, patience & love. I want the child to feel comfortable with me to express themselves in whatever way they feel, as long as it is safe for all involved. I believe this allows the child to feel understood, heard and appreciated

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment is creating “surprises” for the children on special days like birthdays, holidays, etc. I have done this for Halloween a few years in a row & it often includes a treat, a craft, decorations and an activity! Such a fun time & great memories for me & the children :)
