Hi there! My name is Haylee, I am 20 years old, turning 21 in July. I am currently a full-time nanny and I have been taking classes at NOVA. But I am starting at GMU this fall (2026) and I would love to still to be a nanny but I will only be able to care for children part-time. I have my license and would be able to drive children to where they need to go. I am also AED/CPR certified, and I take the course every year.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I fell in love with childcare very early on. My mother was a preschool teacher and since middle school until I graduated high school I would work summers at the preschool as an assistant. During that time I worked with infants through 5 year olds. For the past 2.5 years I have been a full-time nanny for a now 4 year old girl and a 2 year old boy.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to do crafts with children, I enjoying crafts that I prepare and guide them through, as well having them free color and paint. I love teaching children as well, and coming up with new ways to keep them interested so they are also engaged. I like to stay active myself so I really enjoy going outside with children and running around the park with them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I've learned the most important part about being a nanny is being a consistent safe space for the children. It is so important to not leave or quit when things get hard, children need a support system who they know is going to be there for them. And especially with younger children it is so important as a nanny to help guide them in life. They come into this world and have no idea what they are supposed to do. So being that role model for them and teaching them how to react in hard situations, even though it gets so frustrating sometimes it is so important to stay calm and teach them how to adjust to this world they were born into.
