Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have 16 years of experience working with children. My first childcare position was as a nanny to an infant turned preschooler girl for 3 years. When she started preschool, I started college at Northern Illinois University. In college, I was a night time nanny to a 2 year old boy, and babysat for various children ages 0-12, while attending classes during the day. I received my bachelors degree in Elementary Education and went on to teach kindergarten for 2 years. I realized I preferred nannying, so I nannied for a wonderful family, 2 children, until 2020/lockdown prevented that, so I went back to teaching (3rd and 4th grade), which is what I have been doing for the last 3.5 years.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love working with kids. I like making connections and providing them with a nurturing presence while parents are away. A typical day for your child in my care would include lots of play, learning activities, time outside (weather permitting), music, and movement; along with regular care, such as meals, bottle feeding, diapering, baths, naps if needed. I am also available to transport kids to various activities, like swimming lessons, gymnastics, story time, etc. Additionally, I can help with light cleaning for the household.
