Hello! As one of nine children, I have grown up helping care for many of my little siblings. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have spent years working with children in different capacities. I have done extensive babysitting/nannying for various families with infants, toddlers, and school-aged children/teens, ranging from a few hours for a date night to 12+ hour days while the parents are working. I worked at the Boys and Girls Club for a summer, where I assisted in leading classrooms of 15-20+ elementary aged children in various activities and on field-trips. I also enjoyed a season of working as a nanny (caring for a three month old during the week) and acting as a companion and educational aid for a sweet special needs teenager. Most recently, I worked as the coordinator of an after-school program for inner-city and refugee children, ages 3-13, at a local nonprofit organization. I have continued regular babysitting throughout all of these jobs, and continue to build upon my childcare experience as I look for a nanny job!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to encourage the curiosity and wonder of children! I love outdoor activities and games, going on walks, and observing nature. One of my favorite indoor activities is reading books together or just playing with toys.

The most important part of being a nanny is the wonderful opportunity to be an influence of love, compassion, integrity, and kindness in a child's life!

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience working with an elementary aged student with Down Syndrome. I acted as an educational aid and modified curriculum so that my student could learn alongside her peers. After her school, I drove her home. Some days, we would use interactive learning tools at home and then play outside, jump on the trampoline, go for walks, or drive somewhere to go swimming. I absolutely loved working with my student and would enjoy the opportunity to work with another precious special needs child.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite weekly rituals was singing along to the Frozen soundtrack with my sweet special needs student. She loved to sing and we would yell the lyrics at the top of our lungs as I drove her home!
When I worked as a nanny and cared for an infant, I enjoyed taking him on walks in the stroller around the neighborhood. He was fascinated by the outdoors!
