A little bit about me

I have 7 years of teaching experience with 5 years at a local Spanish academy and 2 years of in-home instruction. I have taught as many as 12 children in a class-room setting and as few as 2 while providing private teacher services. I am a mother of two college aged daughters and due to the pandemic, I did not return to teach in a formal school environment and instead have focused on tutoring some of my former students. While doing so, I created a pod style learning environment consisting of 1st grade children from 3 families. The setting was a hybrid learning model with both virtual instruction in conjunction with the NEISD Dual Language program and individualized instruction.
After children returned to school I took on the role of nanny for 1.5 years caring for 2 children ages 12 months and 2 years. While doing so I Helped develop a weekly schedule to teach and assist in their growth. Organizing educational activities, playdates, field trips, and supervising their nutrition.

I have worked as a bi-lingual teacher at a childcare academy as well as assisted in a home school setting during the pandemic. I have also been a caregiver / tutor.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Teaching children a variety of educational subjects as well as Spanish, crafting, painting, singing & dancing. Activities that involve teaching them good manners, values & morals as well as social behavior and creating friendships. Also making time for safe outings to the library, playground and lunch at the park.
I was responsible for planning and implementing summer camp activities at a former employer and understand how important it is for children to have outdoor recreational activities as part of their development.

In my role as teacher and childcare provider I have been trusted by parents to fill a crucial role in the development and overall well-being of children. I am passionate about what I do and take seriously the importance of caring for children’s social and emotional needs.
With this I feel the most important part of being a nanny is to secure the trust of parents and to be passionate about this important role in a child's life.

Every child is special even though some have differences of learning and development and may require extra attention. I have worked with children that need extra help due to differences such as dyslexia and deficit of attention and / or hyperactive.
