Usually at church on Saturdays and I connect with children from ages 4-14. They usually come looking for me and when they find me they tell me about their week, or we doodle on paper or even stay silent next to me and enjoy their snacks ,the part they dislike the most is leaving. Either I have to go or their parents are ready to leave. But I like to reassure them that I’ll be back the following week.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Vary depending on age. Between ages 1-3 the activities really come from their wall of things but also include finding creative ways on learning basic number and letter identification, learning their names and identifying colors and shapes. Ages 4-6 I enjoy learning from them and their wild imagination, hear their stories and teaching them things such as how to express themselves, how to get into routines provided by parents and the list goes on.

The bond that’s built between nanny and child is really the part that gets me the most. Children usually have a hard time warming up to new people especially when all they know is mommy and daddy. After the child shows and opens up their trust to you it is most definitely a heart warming opportunity.

It’s was Christmas. My first Christmas in a long time. I was taking care of 3 kids they honestly felt like siblings they were ages 6 , 10(with special needs) , & 18. Their parents did all the heavy work such as the gift buying and I helped with the gift wrapping. The 18yr was glued to her phone so i decided to include her in allowing her siblings the chance to think Santa came and the night before Christmas we got boots and made foot prints, made cookies and a note for Santa and made it as realistic as possible. Christmas Day when they woke up(including their parents) they were blown away with the creation and joy that overcame them is most definitely a moment I’ll cherish forever.
