I love being hands on and creating fun stuff that can also teach them something new! Whether it be crafts, games, cooking up a good snack, as long as the child is having fun while doing it.

Glenda H. - Seeking Work in Reading

Part-Time Nanny Available in Reading, PA: Glenda H.

I'm a 55 year old widow. I enjoy children. Before my husband got sick I work as a lead custodian at st Mathews Catholic school in virginia beach. There I had 652 students. From 2 yr old to eighth grade.. I have 1 son. He is 36. I always had my nieces and nephews or some other child from the neighbor hood.
I am straight forward. Yes mean yes and no means no. Sometimes you would think that it would make kids upset with me but I take the time to listen to their plea then I explain why my answer is what it is.
I have found that it seems to be kids between 2 and six get the most benefit of my company. Most kids these days don't get undivided attention. I feel that if you spend time and then give them time playing or doing things on there own that you teach them how to use there own imagination and how to problem solve.
I think that kids can taught so much more if you use the simple thing to make learning fun. I think respect is important no matter what the age
