A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Jailyn, and I am a recent graduate of Cincinnati State with an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education. I have been working with kids since I was a teenager, starting with CRC North Avondale Recreation Center, and a small daycare called Kidsville located in Bondhill, both summer jobs. Continuing once I graduated high school at two different YMCA’S Playtime in Colerain and Valley in Roselawn which is now closed down. I am currently employed at Building blocks academy. A small daycare in sharonville.

I am 20 year old loving, patient, dependable, and passionate about creating a safe and caring environment where kids can learn and grow. I would love the opportunity to bring my education and experience into a family’s home.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Relevant experience where I cared for children includes my Early Childhood Education coursework and hands-on practicum experiences, including 210 hours of student teaching in a toddler classroom. I also gained experience at Kidsville Center working with preschool children, including multiple children with special needs. Additionally, I completed a preschool practicum working with children whose first language was Spanish, giving me experience supporting children from diverse backgrounds and developmental needs.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy drawing and coloring because I love doing these activities myself, as well as water play, outdoor and summer activities, and simple cooking activities. I also enjoy turning everyday activities into learning opportunities by incorporating math, language, creativity, fine motor skills, and problem-solving. I’m also comfortable enjoying some age-appropriate TV or screen time of the kids choice of course with, while making sure there is still plenty of time for active play and other activities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being an early childhood educator is creating a safe, loving, and supportive environment where every kid feels valued. I believe it is important to understand each child’s individual needs, encourage their development, and build a trusting relationship with both the child and their family.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience caring for children with a range of special needs but I have only cared for special needs children in preschool age and toddler. including nonverbal children who communicate through sounds, gestures, and other forms of communication, as well as children who are verbal. I have also worked with children who displayed both aggressive and non-aggressive behaviors and learned to respond to each child with patience, consistency, and individualized support based on their needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite part of being an early childhood educator is building meaningful relationships with children and watching them grow and learn in real time and just knowing I had something to do with a young persons positive development is a really great feeling. I especially love the little everyday moments, like when they get excited to see you, want to show you something they made, or come to you for comfort. Those moments remind me how rewarding it is to make a positive difference in a child’s life.
