A little bit about me

My name is Jarely and I’m a 21-year-old student at the University of Illinois at Chicago, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Learning (expected Dec. 2025), with plans to earn a Master’s in Applied Behavior Analysis. I’m bilingual in English and Spanish and have intermediate proficiency in American Sign Language. I was born and raised in Chicago and am proud of my Mexican roots. I have a strong interest in the emotional and social development of children. I’ve volunteered for over five years at my local elementary school, primarily supporting Pre-K and Kindergarten students. I also hold a paraprofessional license in Illinois and have completed over 60 credit hours in child development-related courses. These experiences have fueled my passion for working with young children and supporting their growth. Outside of academics, I enjoy long walks, cooking, and crafting activities that help me stay creative and grounded.
