The most important part about being a nanny...
Having patience. A lot of people don’t have the patience it takes to handle other peoples kids, and that leads to kids not trusting adults. I want to be able to be trusted and will always do my best to be patient with every kiddo I meet.
My experience with special needs children...
I grew up helping my aunt care for her highly autistic daughter. She had severe sensory needs and would often engage in self harm, so I would help her engage in different activities and use less dangerous sensory seeking behaviors.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Helping a tired 1 year old finally nap after Mom, Dad and Grandma tried their hardest. I used music, rocking and patting his back until his little eyes closed. What made the moment was how happy the family was when he finally laid down and slept.
