In high school I was a part of a program called Titan tots, I worked for the West Salem Kids Care, I was a personal care assistant for a family whose daughter was severely autistic, I have been a nanny for families with multiple children including one that had eight.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
For me personally I try to incorporate music into everything that I do when it comes to special activities. Whether that be doing something like artwork and other crafts, reading stories, costumes, playing dolls or action figures or any other imaginative play while inside, with music in the background, or outside playing sports, duck-duck-goose, hide and go seek, scavenger hunts, nature walks... whatever the Oregon weather will allow.

I have cared for children who have Autism, Down syndrome, Asperger's, Cerebral palsy, and children who are blind and deaf.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One day while baking in the kitchen with a set of twin girls who just turned 5, I turned to grab the sugar, and one of the girls decided to push the gallon of extra virgin olive oil off the counter sending it pouring all over the kitchen floor. I immediately tried to clean the mess finding it very problematic, quickly I decided to turn this potentially horrible situation to a fun experience for everyone. So, instead of crying over this spill or getting frustrated, I decided that the best way to clean up the mess would be to have the girls throw handfuls of flower on the floor then roll it around until it became little balls of dough that we could then sweep it up. We had fun making a mess and cleaning it up that day!
