A little bit about me

Hi, I’m Jenika! I’m a certified teacher with a degree in Elementary Education and have been caring for children since I was 15. Over the years I’ve worked with kids ages 1–9, often multiple at a time, and I’m comfortable handling everything from meals and bedtime routines to keeping the house running smoothly.

What I bring to the table is more than just childcare. As a teacher, I know how to support learning, encourage creativity, and help with homework in ways that keep kids engaged. As a Division I lacrosse player at Northwestern, I bring energy, leadership, and a positive role model mentality. Families can count on me to keep children safe, active, and happy, while also providing the consistency and dependability that parents value most.

I recently graduated from Drexel University and am now pursuing my Master’s at Northwestern. I truly love working with kids and look forward to supporting families here in Evanston.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I am a certified teacher with a degree in Elementary Education and recently finished student teaching in a kindergarten classroom. I have also been babysitting since the age of 15, caring for children ages 2–9, often multiple at once. In addition, I’ve coached young athletes and organized activities that combine learning with fun. Across all of these experiences, I’ve gained skills in leadership, responsibility, and child development that I bring into every nannying job.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love keeping kids active and engaged, whether that’s playing outdoors, doing arts and crafts, reading together, or setting up fun games inside. I also enjoy helping with homework and finding ways to make learning part of playtime.

The most important part about being a nanny...

For me, the most important part is creating a safe, positive, and consistent environment where children feel cared for and supported. I believe in being dependable and present, while also encouraging growth, creativity, and fun.

My experience with special needs children...

I worked as a special education aide for three years with students ages 14–19. In that role, I ensured their individual needs were met, including wheelchair assistance and bathrooming, while also supporting them in their education and daily routines. This experience taught me patience, adaptability, and how to provide consistent care with respect and compassion.
