I volunteered at a local elementary for a year. I got to read with children 8-10 years old, taught some math, and helped them with homework. I also babysat for a family of two children, 4 year old and 6 month old. In clinical settings, I have worked with newborn care.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I like to read, write, help with homework. I know how to play the violin so I can accompany them in a song or be their #1 fan. I love going outside to play with them - this can be sports, jog, water balloons, parks, etc..

Being a nanny to children is awesome. However, it won't be great all the time so you need to have a positive mindset and patience to make the best out of any situation.

I have worked with special needs children for one year at a local high school. I got to help out with their prom night as well!

When the child goes up to you with excitement and they cannot wait to tell you what happened in the last day because they didn't see you, is such an amazing feeling. Makes me feel great that we are so close and that they trust me.
