A little bit about me

I'm a fairytale writer from Florence in her mid-20s and the oldest of 5 kids. My first job was working for Community Partnerships of Idaho where I was a therapy technician for children ages 3-12 with developmental delays and mental disabilities.

I have my bachelor's in business management and will be applying to grad school in the fall.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Reading, writing, crafting and creating comic books or other art the children are drawn to, walking trails, swimming, and any opportunity to be around animals. I absolutely love Florence and would be delighted to take the littles out to explore The Hobbit Trail and see the lighthouse.

knowing we're all on the same team. Trust and communication are key.

My experience with special needs children...

I have been trained specifically to support special needs children. My youngest brother has a history that has given me hands on and very personal experience as well.

I am patient and curious before anything else, and will be happy to accommodate and work with your child per your instructions and as part of their circle of advocates in the world.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One time a very outspoken 9 year old boy was dropped off in my care at his mom's house; he was acting out, and eventually confided in me that he was really upset with his mom because of things his dad had said about her during their weekend visit.

I was able to give him a safe space to talk about how he felt, while also setting the boundary that there would be no bad-mouthing parents to me, and when his mom got home he was able to talk to her about what had upset him.

While it was an intense situation, it was really special to see the resolution and to witness the trust grow between the mother and her son. Later, I asked her if how I handled the situation was appropriate, and the feedback was wonderful as well.
