Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I’ve been a substitute for a year now. Ranging from elementary to high school. Before that I was at an k-8 school teacher assistant and before and afterschool teacher and also a few preschools just to get experience and finding better opportunities.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Coloring, painting and having fun days like going on picnics, playing tag at the park. Reading different stories and watching old movies / “movie nights”.

The most important part about being a nanny...

For me the most important is to make sure all children are safe and well taken care of as if they were mine. Making sure they are clean and fed and have everything done that is needed for the next day!

My experience with special needs children...

I’ve cared for kids with bipolar disorders, ADHD and also Down syndrome. It’s challenging but still worth it!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Learning how to read! Ugh, I literally cried! One of my favorite memories was when I would babysit my baby brothers and read the same story to them every day. One day, my 4-year-old brother started learning how to read right before my eyes, and our story time quickly became a little “read-along.” I would read one page, and then he would read the next. From that moment on, he was reading nonstop! Watching him learn, gain confidence, and become so excited about reading was such a special experience. I absolutely love knowing that I was a small part of that journey and that those everyday story times helped encourage his love for reading. Those are the moments that remind me why I love working with children so much—being able to watch them learn, grow, and reach new milestones is truly priceless.
