A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Jessie and I am looking for a summer babysitting/nanny job. During the school year, I work as a special education assistant in a middle school setting. Before this, I worked as an instructional aid at an elementary school, working with grades 2 and 5. Alongside being a school assistant, I have worked for YMCA childcare for 5 years. With the YMCA, I worked as an afterschool childcare assistant, and during the summer I worked as a summer camp counselor. My time with the YMCA was spent mostly working with grades k-2. Combined I have experience in grades K-8.

Because of my experience with both in school and out of school activities, I have great proficiency in many areas. I am very good with reteaching and tutoring if this is something you are needing or are interested in. I also love to have fun and I am very creative when it comes to coming up with crafts and games! I am also willing to help with meal prep and light housekeeping.

I absolutely love being creative with activities and games! My favorite part about being a camp counselor was coming up with all the games and activities I wanted to do with my kids. I especially love crafts that are fun yet teaches new things along the way!

My experience with special needs children...

Currently, I am a special education assistant in a middle school setting. The children I work with on a daily basis struggle with mild learning disabilities and social-emotional disabilities. I worked one-on-one with an autistic child for 2 years as well.

I do very well with creating positive relationships to encourage learning and maintain proper emotional management.
