Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Most recently as a therapist for children on the spectrum in a children's center environment. I worked one on one with three children, for more than six months each. I worked on a clinical team with staff and parents involved. I also was a nanny for about seven months with a two-year-old boy and parents who worked from home I was a mentor in a program called CHAMPS for three years. This program paired a High School or Middle School aged student with a college student. Every Sunday we would get together to play games, work on homework, and both share and plan future goals.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I have a minor in studio art so I love doing art-based activities such as drawing, coloring, painting, and crafting! I also love doing simple cooking with help from the kiddos. Playtime is also important, whether that be playing with (fake) swords, tag, hide and seek, tea parties, or whatever safe activity the kiddo likes to do to be active!
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important aspect of being a nanny would have to be creating a safe space. Both physically ensure the kiddos are in no danger as well as making sure the kiddo feels emotionally safe with the nanny.
My experience with special needs children...
Most of my experience with special needs children came from Dream Big Children Center. I work as an early intervention therapist with both high and low-functioning kiddos for about two years.
The most important part about being a nanny...
During my time helping my sister's daycare over one summer, there was a kiddo who really bonded with me. She was very shy and didn't talk much, but she would always come to talk to me. When I lead the kids through a dry ice and bubbles science project, she made me a group of bubbles in the shape of a heart. It was so cute, I absolutely melted.
