A little bit about me

My name is Jessica and I’ve worked with children of all ages for about 4 years, in daycares and as a babysitter. We helped kids explore with colors, letters, and music, and gave them lots of free time to play and socialize. Themes and projects for the classroom were a weekly routine. We excelled at making kids feel happy, protected, and loved! I also worked in the after school program and helped older kids with homework. During warmer months we had a summer camp program, which was my favorite! Each week we would go on a different field trip and have a blast, with each teacher assigned a group of kids to be in eyes’ view the whole day. I’ve had groups of 8-10 energetic kids running around a bowling alley, water park, Wild West City, and the Crayola Factory. I also love to cook and bake, so I can make healthy and fun foods for children! I love art too, so I do a lot of coloring and crafts! Fluent in Spanish and English. Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Sensory activities are my favorite for small children because it takes them on a journey, discovering their senses and their motor skills. Learning activities are my favorite for older children because it shows them that learning can be fun! Fun activities we might do are: sensory boxes, non-stick slime, Play-Doh, kinetic sand, non-toxic finger painting, playing with bubbles, making reading fun, glow in the dark activities, Summer water play outside, pom poms in ice cream cones, pretend kitchen play, dress up, circle time, learning to sing songs, learning numbers, movie time (if allowed) etc! It’s a mix and match experience for each child! For younger children, I like to walk them through the emotions they don’t like, such as sadness and anger, because they are so little and don’t know how to handle those emotions. I like to teach them some coping skills so that instead of crying and screaming, we can talk through it and we can feel better!

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was when I took the kids to a waterpark! They had so much fun going down a biggg slide and then we had slushies. At the end of the trip they told me how much they loved me and wanted me to be with them forever🥺 It made me happy.
