More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Church of Christ Wee nursery, cared for children and have references if needed, and I raised my own two adult children
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy helping children learn, grow and develop so early education, like basic shapes, colors. Etc. I will read to your child, do arts & crafts with them, explore nature ie: finding rocks to paint, finding cool leaves as they change in season and I know how to get down on your child’s level and play with their favorite toys with them, while occasionally asking them questions regarding their toys to see where their imagination will take them. I have a lot of love for the children and there is something so magical about viewing things through the eyes of a child. The fascination, excitement and wonder among many, are some of the characteristics that I find the most inspiring and interesting. Your child will be very happy with me. Most children gravitate towards me because I am a positive person, I speak softly and calm. I have a child-like spirit that connects to your child and allows them to feel safe, valued, seen & heard. I will love your child like they are my own while in my care.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny in my personal opinion, is knowing an understanding the child and the child’s needs and meeting that child where they are at, in any given moment. While I believe that we(child caregivers), are not the child’s parents, we are someone who spends just as much time, if not more with these children, and we are a person that these children look up to when they are scared, when they are hungry, when they are confused or would like to spend quality time with you and so you need to be a person that wears many hats. You need to be everything that child needs while that child is in your care. I always make sure that the children who are in my care feel safe, they feel loved and they feel seen and heard. And I think that is why so many children gravitate toward me because I genuinely care and I want them to feel that.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with children who are autistic or have markers that placed them somewhere on the spectrum. I also raised a child who was autistic. My son was diagnosed with autism at the age of four and I successfully raised him to be an intelligent, self-sufficient man who is now a husband and father and works to provide for his family. I know how to de-escalate an issue rather than make an issue worse. I have the patience of a saint when it comes to working with children and just things that present themselves as more of a challenge. I do well under pressure, I don’t panic. I have always been a critical thinker and problem solver so I use those Skill sets in my every day life to help me maneuver through those challenging times. I am a woman of Christ, I have a heart of gold. Some would say I wear my heart on my sleeve, and my only flaw will be getting attached to your child and loving your child so very much. But I am an open book so any questions you have, I welcome them please.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I had a little boy named Jake who came into my care at the age of three months old and I had that same little boy up until he turned three. The father came in to pick him up one day as Mom always came for him. He said he sat and watched me for almost 7 minutes before he let me know he was there and he said that he’s never seen anyone so patient and good with his child aside from him and his wife. He said he watched his child cling onto me and wrap his little hand and fingers in mine as I read a book to him while we were waiting for his Daddy to arrive. It made me feel good and validated in knowing that I was doing my job and I was doing it well and being told from a parent that you are someone they are appreciative of, it really makes you feel good inside. And this same family had offered me to come work for them privately outside of the daycare for special occasions and date nights, and so I did. Just one of the beautiful stories that sits in my heart that I wanted to share.

Live-In Part-Time Nanny Available in Absecon, NJ: Kaylynn A.
Hello! My name is Kaylynn, but all of my past kiddos have called me "Ms. Kay" (lol)! I am 20 years old and the oldest of 5 kids so I have been helping take care of kids my whole life! I have also worked in a few day cares, including a center for children with disabilities. I am first aid and CPR certified and won't panic if something goes wrong. I have a passion and love for teaching and helping children grow! Every child I meet becomes one of my own babies, and they end up teaching me more than I feel I teach them! I believe every child deserves to feel safe and supported in their own learning journeys, and I make sure they know they are safe to grow in their own ways with me! I hope I can be a part of your family and babies stories in life!
