A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Jocelyn. I am a wife and mom of one to a beautiful little girl. I am an early childhood education veteran with 8+ years of experience including classroom experience and 2 years under my belt as a preschool director. I patient, fun, and responsible. The most important factors regarding childcare is: health, safety, and education. I have had a passion for caregiving since I was a teenager and trying to figure out what exactly it is I wanted to pursue in life. Throughout college, I maintained a full-time caregiver position as well as part time day care assisting. Although I graduated with my bachelors degree in child psychology and minor in education, it took until September 2021 for me to finally gain recognition for my knowledge. From Sept 2021- Feb 2023, I took an empty office building and turned it into a loving cozy preschool. Unfortunately Jan. 2023, my health fell weak. I am now feeling great and ready to get back into the education field and make a difference!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is not just making sure children are cared for, but to make sure they feel a sense of love and companionship between themselves and their caregiver. Anybody can take on this role, but it takes a special person to add the spark to the experience between child and caregiver. As an adult it’s hard not to become friendly with your coworkers. So, why wouldn’t it be the same in the situation? It’s hard not to become close to the children that you work with and treat them as your own.

My experience with special needs children...

From 10 years old to 19 years old, my amazing Uncle was not only a special education teacher but a Special Olympics coach. He had his own Special Olympics bowling team in Hudson County, NJ- in which every year in the month of January I would volunteer to hand out awards to the athletes in recognition of their hard work.
