One of my favorite nanny moments was comforting a little girl during a tough day at school. She came home upset because she didn’t feel included in her class project. I sat with her, listened to her feelings, and encouraged her to share more about what happened. Together, we came up with ways she could express her ideas to her classmates and feel more confident.
Later, as we were working on a craft project together, she looked up at me and said, “I’m really glad you’re here.” It was such a heartfelt moment that reminded me how important it is to not only care for children but to be their emotional support when they need it most. Moments like these make being a nanny so meaningful to me.
