Hi, I'm Julia, I am 22 years old and have grown up in Minnesota. Since a young age I have had a passion for childcare and helping others. I have babysat many children in the past 3+ years and have realized that the childcare field is where I have found my true passion. My main characteristics would include being creative, caring, patient, and kind. I grew up in a large family and took a part in raising my younger siblings. I spent a majority of the past 2 years working as a paraprofessional in my local school district, where I learned a lot about the educational side of caring for children. I am now looking for a full-time, year-round position where I am able to step back from the educational aspects and lean into the emotional and everyday developmental side of childcare. I am hoping to find a family that I can connect and grow with to provide the best care for their children!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have spent the past 2 years working as a paraprofessional in my local school district, working with children ages 4-16. I have helped students with schoolwork, keeping them organized, keeping them on track socially and academically, and monitoring student behavior. I also worked within the school's daycare, working with a group of 10-13 kids on average with ages ranging from 4-12.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy going to the park and trying different activities. In the area my favorite places to visit include the children museum, riverside amusement, and Jump start. I also enjoy playing board games and card games such a go fish and old maid. Along with activites like puzzles, painting, art projects, and playing outdoors. I enjoy playing games based on the children I'm looking after; the stronger connection I have with the family and the kids the more thought and preparation I can put into making daily plans!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe that what matters most is being able to not only form a great relationship with the children, but also the parents. I feel that a nanny should be an extension for the family, being seen a member of the family.

My experience with special needs children...

Working as a paraprofessional I have worked closely with special needs children. I have loved building relationships with all of the different kids I have had the opportunity of working with.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment of nannying/babysitting has been a long weekend I spent watching over my younger siblings. Even though they are my siblings we had an amazing weekend where we went to some new parks, out to eat and played in arcades. We also had a couple movie nights with some of their and my favorite childhood movies eating snacks and popcorn. We had so much fun, and it was one of the best memories I now have with them!
