Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I am a retired elementary teacher of 21 + years in FL and MN. The past five years I decided to Nanny during school break times but enjoyed being a nanny so much that I stepped away from teaching and proceeded with finding my family to care for their child. I've worked for numerous families mostly with infants to 9 years old. However, I had one long term, more than 3 months, with a high profile client that had an 8 year old. I often stayed days or weeks at a time, also doing household management duties.
I enjoy being around children and helping them meet their developmental milestones, being creative and showing that I care 100% of the time. I give instant attention while I am with them and make them feel secure in my presence.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Activities can vary extremely depending on the age of the children. But no matter what age I believe reading and music is extremely important in any developmental stage.
I enjoy doing arts ands crafts using nature if possible. Painting is fun because many products can be used. Taking long walks if weather appropriate to get fresh air and experience our surroundings. Going to parks. Inside or outside swimming is important and I am a true believer to start young with this activity...
I truly gauge activities by age and take the time to rotate activities.

My experience with special needs children...
Within my teaching career I taught numerous years in the Special Education field. I have the ability, knowledge, and love of all ages of children with various disabilities. I am three classes away and research paper from my receiving my Masters degree in ABS and minor in EBD at Bethel University.
