Children bring out the best in everyone, especially for me. After retirement from a corporate career while simultaneously raising my own family I find childcare the most rewarding work ever. Safety always comes first, I have a lovely way of endearing children while bringing them to their true potential. There are so many ways a child grows d. I pride myself in never raising a hand or screaming at anyone, including those who I am entrusted with. This is an intricate part of the care I provide. I am college educated, world traveled, own a home and a lovely car. You will find me reliable and happy to provide special touches caring for your families day. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Recently I cared for a family with a 5 & 6 year old. We sharpened their manners , I tutored them to learn reading, helped with homework and was charged with all personal care and their meals. For the first time they visited the library, regularly. As needed I spent overnights and nursed them through a flu after returning from Brazil. Once they moved bank to MA where they both owned businesses I cared for a sweet 9 year old who I took to daily swim practice after helping with homework, I shopped for the family, did laundry and prepared dinner. At present I care for 4 children, ages 1, 2, 6 & 7. They are a sweet and loving family , the children are always happy. They are seeking State assisted care due to financial issues, I remain there and am helping them get these applications prepared and promised 1 week notice. Since I was 12 year old I have cared for children, a family of 4 children was my lengthiest client as a teen and during college years I helped teachers with their son.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

All creative activities are fun for children, they provide learning experiences too. All of the arts, music, story telling, painting and building blocks are classics. Children love cooking, the joy of watching them crack an egg is priceless. Once the children's hands are squeaky clean I find they love meal prep or putting napkins next to plates. We can play; cards, board games, practice yoga, or go for walks, perhaps to the “forest” for our own scavenger hunts. We can start identifying tree types, discover moss and get creative with other items we may find. I also achieved a Red Cross Life Guard certificate, The beach is another great place of discovery, with an abundance of safety.

My experience with special needs children...

My first client after retirement was with a boy on the spectrum, we are still friends. We did homework, many “field” trips and I helped him study for his learner permit. He is now a Toyota driver and has two jobs. The second boy I cared for is ADHD, he now lives in FL, we still remain friends. One of the four children I care for at present has disabilities, having experience in this area helps him tremendously.
