I feel that when there are light bulb moments it is so rewarding. When a child masters a skill like making cookies for a class bake sale, there is so much joy with the end results. We turn on the music, dance around the kitchen to the beat, and just have fun.
Together, we measured out all the ingredients, mixed them, added nuts and chocolate chips, put them on cookie sheets, and baked them. While baking, we cleaned up the kitchen together so once cookies were done, the kitchen was spotless.
After the tasting test and putting them inside a container, the child gave me a huge smile and hug thanking me for a really fun time while working really hard.
