Providing a safe and loving space for the child. It’s not easy having someone new come into your space, especially when you’re a young child. So being gentle and patience with the kids show them they can trust you and feel more comfortable with you so the time away from their mom or dad doesn’t seem so bad :)

A funny one would be when I was taking care of 2 kids, and I made them laugh so hard one of them peed their pants :) haha.
