The most important part about being a nanny...
I think the most important thing when caring for a child are safety, creativity, and patience. I have never yelled at a child before, but I have put a few in time out. I have never put my social life before the care of a child. And I have never let children go unsupervised outside or in a room where they could be possibly injured. These things are very important for the child to have fun, but also feel safe with their Nanny.
My experience with special needs children...
I have never babysat a child with special needs, but I have volunteered with one with of course help from an adult.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The last family whose children I babysat was a family of 5, with three little boys. Every time I would arrive at their house, they would run and wrap their little arms around my legs and because they couldn't pronounce their "K"s they called me "Tate". I miss them so much!
