More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was a preschool lead teacher at Kindercare as well as floating where I was needed. I have a 5-year-old and a 6 month old nephew I help take care of. I also currently work as a part time coach for children at different daycares and a middle school after school program.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love introducing children to sports and physical activity. With infants and younger toddlers. just rolling a ball with them is helpful for their gross motor skills to develop. As they get older, adding in throwing/kicking/hitting balls is helpful for hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. Children should look forward to running and playing outside, and keeping the screen time limited is a large part of my goal as a nanny and aunt. Reading with kids is also fun. My passion for reading started with my mom reading me stories ever since infancy, and I find it important to have those skills ahead of the game (although there is no shame in not picking it up fast. Every child is different and should be treated as such).
The most important part about being a nanny...
Watching a child have 10 bad days and 1 good day is the most fulfilling moment as a caretaker.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I have not nannied before, but watching children develop personalities is my favorite part about working with children. As they grow, they get opinions and wills of their own. It makes working with them more difficult in a sense that they question you. but it's important to answer to their questions. Reasoning and compromising with children is very important, especially for a "problem child". I see those kids as more of people who are opposing the norm, and it is very normal to do so. Helping these kids with whatever issue they're having and learning to understand them is very important. Every child deserves an equal chance and an equal outcome.

Hey, I’m Rae! I’m 19 years old and a student at Butler University. I’ve been in the childcare game since 2017, and have three siblings of whom I was their primary caretaker from 2016 to 2020. I love working with children and infants, and I love volunteering. My other passions would include art (any kind!), reading, writing, and law. I hold strong focus on children’s developmental milestones, and every child I spend time with will learn some American Sign Language. In addition to basic Sign, I also speak intermediate level French. I am very comfortable with dogs, and I drive a minivan. I am CPR, First Aid, and Safe-Sitter certified. I really like horses, crafts, My Little Pony, and Bluey. I would love to meet your family!
