Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I’ve taught children ages 4 and up for the past 9+ years. I've mainly been in elementary schools, Pre-K through 5th grade. While I was in college I worked at a boys and girls club as a camp counselor and at a town camp for children with special needs. I watch my 8 month old niece and friends’ 16 month old occasionally.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love being outside with children and doing activities like going for walks, drawing with chalk, and playing with outdoor toys. Fun indoor activities are arts and crafts, story time, pretend play, music and dancing, and other learning activities. I also would like to bring children on fun outings to parks, zoos, children museums, the library etc.
The most important part about being a nanny...
creating a bond with the children I care for as well as connecting with the parents. It is also important to me that children thoroughly enjoy themselves while they learn and grow!
My experience with special needs children...
I’ve had children in my class that have autism, ADHD, developmental delays, and learning disabilities. Back in college, I worked summers at a Boys and Girls Club and and as a 1:1 aid at a town summer camp for children with special needs.
