More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My first experience caring for a child was when I was in grade school and I was an after school companion for a 4 year old. I continued to babysit for this child until she moved away a few years ago. I volunteered as a babysitter for week-long seminars that provided childcare. The children I looked after during these days ranged in age from 6 months to 10 years old. I volunteered as a leader for summer children's programs, leading the children in crafts and games. In high school I worked as a camp counselor at Very Merry Theater for 4 to 12 year olds. Some weeks we helped the children to write and perform in their own play, other weeks centered around learning about nature and nature activities.

While the most important thing about being a nanny is keeping the children safe, it is also important for the children to feel safe and that the nanny cares about them. It's important to be actively engaged with the children and to offer activities that are healthy alternatives to screen time .
My experience with special needs children...
While I know two girls with Downs Syndrome, I don't have any experience working with children who have special needs.
