A little bit about me

I am a caring person who loves children. I use to be a toddler and child teacher in my church for kids from ages 2-14. I also watch family and friends babies from new borns and up. I am currently 19 and I’ve been watching kids since age 10. I do not have a driver’s license yet, because I am still learning to drive but I am given rides to work. I know CPR, and I know how to disinfect and bandaged wounds. I do know how to cook and for a long time I cleaned houses and buildings so I know how to pick up messes. I do know some kids can be a handful, but I have lost of patience as well. I am currently unemployed, which is why I am trying out as a nanny since I grew up watching other peoples kids and still do to this day. I’m just hoping to do it now, but to make a bit of money to support myself and also help parents who I know can get busy with work. Especially in such times as this. I live in Lawton, Oklahoma, and I do hope I can help if chosen.

I was a teacher in my church from 2-14 year old kids. I also watching family member’s and friend’s kids growing up since age 10

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

For indoor activities I like to do arts and crafts with kids, if not I come up with games depending on toys they may have such as make believe. Or we watch cartoon movies or shows.. For outdoor activities we would play like tag, hide and go seek, ball, duck duck goose. And if summer time and approved by parents. Maybe I could bring water balloons for fun. And of course, I’d clean up the mess.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think the most important part of being a nanny is protecting the kids, but not just that. I also think it’s important to help the kids too. Being a nanny isn’t just watching kids for parents in need of help. It’s also letting the kids know that no matter what someone is always going to be there to have their backs, giving them the attention they need in such a crucial time as growing up and developing the people of the future.

My experience with special needs children...

When I was a teacher in my church some of the children had the type of autism where they did not like to be touched, they couldn’t talk properly, and had to be constantly watched. Seeing this I did a lot of research on different ways of communicating with them to include them in fun activities while learning what they like and don’t like. I also have many cousins and friends with autism so I get to see the different types of it.
