My experience with special needs children...
When my niece / adopted sister was born in 2016, she spent a long time in the hospital withdrawing from the drugs in her system. I assisted in raising her from birth until age 5 when I left Arizona and she stayed with my dad and step mom. She has autism as well as a few other developmental issues. I feel as though I learned a lot about taking care of special needs children through her. It was no easy task but it was 100 percent worth it. Additionally, I have autism myself so I often relate heavily to special needs children.

My favorite nanny moment was when the toddler I care for first started walking and eventually said my name!
