A little bit about me

Hi I’m Katelynn! I am 18 & I love working with children, I hope to one day become a therapist for children. I currently am pursuing my AA at South Puget Sound Community College after graduating High School in June 2022. I am currently not First Aid Certified but I will if anyone reaches out if they are interested in me working. I currently work part-time at Fujiyama Japanese Steakhouse in Olympia and can get my work schedule to fit yours! I do have a reliable vehicle. I am not allergic to any animals, I own 2 cats and 1 dog. I prefer cats and smaller dogs because larger dogs make me a little uneasy but my dog is a larger breed so I can handle and tolerate larger breeds as well.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing arts and crafts, going on walks, going to any local parks, taking the kids swimming if you have a local community pool or a home pool, and I really enjoy helping kids with projects such as building lego sets, putting together toys to build a fort, etc.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Caring for children and making sure they feel loved, special, and wanted. I love bonding with the kids and their families so we usually feel like family and I’m like their extra daughter.

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for only 1 special needs child, I wouldn’t consider myself skilled in the subject at all but I am open to the idea.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Some sweet moments I had with past children I’ve cared for are when they draw me pictures (I always keep them in a special drawer of my room), when I picked them up from school and brought them to the park and we played for hours, and when I first met them, they all tackled me and wrestled me and asked when I would be coming back.
