Hi families! I’m Katie - a certified special education and elementary education teacher with 6+ years of professional experience working with children of all ages and abilities. While I’m no longer teaching full-time, childcare and child development have always been such a huge part of my life, and I genuinely love building meaningful relationships with both children and parents.

I’m 29 years old and have been babysitting and nannying since high school, so caring for kids has always come naturally to me. I’m known for being warm, dependable, organized, and creative, and I love creating environments where kids feel safe, supported, confident, and excited to be themselves.

I love planning activities that keep kids engaged, creative, and having fun while still feeling relaxed and supported! Some of my favorite things to do with children include crafts, sensory activities, baking, outdoor walks and playground trips, scavenger hunts, games, reading stories, imaginative play, dance parties, and themed activities. I also enjoy helping with homework, building routines, and creating fun learning opportunities naturally throughout the day. I love balancing fun, creativity, and structure while making everyday moments feel exciting and special for kids!

The most important part of being a nanny to me is creating an environment where children feel safe, supported, understood, and genuinely excited to be themselves. I believe the best childcare comes from building real relationships with both children and parents based on trust, communication, consistency, and care. I love balancing structure and responsibility with fun, creativity, and connection — whether that’s helping a child navigate big emotions, encouraging confidence, creating special memories, or simply making everyday routines feel easier and more enjoyable for the whole family.

My experience with special needs children...

As a certified special education teacher, I have experience supporting children with a wide range of developmental, behavioral, emotional, and learning needs. I’ve worked closely with children with autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, speech/language delays, emotional regulation challenges, and social/behavioral needs in both classroom and childcare settings. My background has helped me become patient, flexible, calm under pressure, and skilled at creating supportive environments where children feel safe, understood, and successful. I truly value meeting each child where they are and building strong, trusting relationships with both children and families.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny days was taking the kids to the aquarium and then coming home for a full creative afternoon together. We made vision boards, did crafts, read books together, blasted music, and ended the day with a huge dance party in the living room. I love creating fun, memorable experiences where kids can be creative, expressive, and genuinely enjoy being kids!
