Hello, my name is Kathrine but you can call me Katie (she/her). Im a 26 year old 2021 BFA graduate in photography. I became a live-in nanny in 2021 for a family who's mother had birth complications and was bed bound for a month. I have also babysat since I was 14 and worked with children of all ages at my previous job. I am red cross CPR/first aid certified as well as an extensive BBP certification. I'm fully vaccinated and remain protective of my health. I love doing physical activities (sports, stretching, walks) but also mentally/emotionally stimulating things (puzzles, reading, drawing/painting). Im down for helping with house chores like laundry, dishes and meal making. I also have a car and am willing to taxi as needed.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was the Adventure Recreation department coordinator for UIUC which involved teaching intro to climbing basic for individuals 4-12. This was a hands-on process where I needed to manage not only the learning experience but also safety of 12 children at one time in addition to appeasing 12 sets of parents. I loved watching the kids explore and be active at the same time.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

With my background in arts, I love engaging in creative outlets such as painting, crafting with various textures like play dough or wet noodles. I also am very active and would implement some sort of physical activity suited to who I was watching (walking/stretching/rock climbing/soccer...)

My experience with special needs children...

Elemental but have 3 cousins with varying conditions from severe autism to functioning Aspergers that I have been actively involved with my whole life.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Teaching a family of three kiddos how to use my film camera and then getting the film developed and having a lil art show.
