The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is understanding that you’re not just helping with daily tasks but also becoming a steady, trusted presence in a child’s life. That means being attentive, emotionally aware, and intentional in how you interact with them. I think it’s about helping children feel secure while also encouraging their independence and confidence.
My experience with special needs children...
My experience with special needs children includes working in roles such as teaching, tutoring, and coaching, where I’ve supported children with different learning styles and needs by providing patience, structure, and individualized attention.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny moments was when I was spending time with a child who had a lot of energy and big emotions. Instead of trying to shut that down, I leaned into it and we turned things into games and found ways to channel that energy into something positive. Over time, I could see them becoming more confident and able to express themselves in a calmer way. There was a moment where they told me something they were proud of and looked to me for reassurance, and it just stuck with me. It made me realize how much of this role is about building trust and helping kids feel understood.
