Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Going outside is a big activity for me with children. I encourage participating in simple games to accommodate the energy many children have. (Tag, Hide and Seek, Racing) I am not big on electronic devices for younger children as I do not want it to be a hook for them but am flexible to limited gaming time or multiplayer activities. I also love to have children think outside the box fostering creativity, whether it be with some form of art or a real world problem.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I believe the most important part about being a nanny, while stereotypical, is actually trying to understand what type of child you are caring for. Do they prefer to be active, or do they like a calm-oriented environment, do they want to play a game or do they want to learn something new.
My experience with special needs children...
I do not have extensive experience with children of special needs, but I have grown up in a household with siblings and relatives possibly having ADHD.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The best experience I've had babysitting a nephew of mine is when it finally clicked for him to learn how to play Minecraft. He loves playing games and while I don't encourage it, I was proud that he'd figured out how to work a keyboard at such a young age as it is becoming more increasingly required to know how to work on a computer.
