My name is Kayla and I while I don't have any kids myself, I love being around them. I am the person who stops when walking by to cheer up an a fussy toddler giving their parent a hard time, tells their friend to bring their kid to lunch if they don't have a sitter because I know how to keep them occupied/comfortable while we talk, and quietly shuts doors if I see a baby sleeping nearby. The majority of my babysitting experience was in my teenage years caring for the siblings on team trips or parties so the parents could have a relaxing time and that built my clientele. I have 2 younger brothers (one 4 years younger and one 8 years younger) who I also helped raise as my dad was a single father who worked a lot. I'm new to this area and hoping to use my skills to help your family!

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I volunteered at an after school program for homeless families for 3 years. During the program we would spend part of the time helping with homework and another portion focusing on activities. These activities included coloring, scavenger hunts, gym games, seasonal crafts, etc. I also chaperoned a few field trips and helped execute an ice cream social family movie night. It was so much fun and I only stopped because I moved away from the shelter.

Puzzles and crafts! I love seeing their minds get creative and problem solve. Being active outside like a walk, passing a ball, playing at a park, or hide and seek is also lots of fun.
