Going to the park, learning about math and science, going to the rec center, playing outside. Specifically in the dirt, learning about the different soils, how water effects the ground, etc. I recently got into a hobby of gardening and landscaping. I'm redoing my front yard. I love being outside, getting some vitamin d, looking and planning what my next thing to do is.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Showing them love and kindness. Kids learn bullying, etc from home. To show them love and kindness will make them loving and kind at school and anywhere else.
My experience with special needs children...
Autism. Low functioning and high functioning. Downs Syndrome, ADHD, extreme allergies, cerebral palsy, and dyslexia. I've also worked with kids who have to use sign language. I can use pretty good sign language.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I was taking care of 2 boys. After about a year, they got too comfortable with me. I picked them up from the bus stop and they ran home. I got to the house and they locked me out! I was pissed but I found out a worse punishment for kids than getting spanked. Sit on the couch and do absolutely nothing. If they talk, pet the cat or dog, play with their arms, kick, etc I gave them a chore. I was "creative" with the chores. The oldest had to pick up dog poop. I gave him a plastic bag and a garden shovel to pick up the poop. He didn't like that.
