More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I am the youngest if 7, so I've always been surrounded by kids. My first babysitting job was as a kid myself, honeslty. I've also been an English Teacher in a foreign country as a ministry service, and I volunteered regularly at my former church's kid's department before I moved.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love swimming, biking, hiking and exploring. I love to learn and create, try new things, build new objects and do hands on projects. I love art, science, and nature, as well as many other things that kids tend to also enjoy.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is the kids. The village isn't raising kids, we're raising adults FROM kids. Let's make sure they're set up for success by teaching them how the world functions and how to survive ahead of time. Show them what to look for and what's not ok. Teach them what respect looks like and how to shut something disrespectful down without stooping to that level. Kids are the future, so let's break the toxic cycles we've been passing down and make it about the kids.

My experience with special needs children...

I've had kids with anxiety, add/adhd, high-functioning autism, allergies, dyslexia and sensory disorders. I'm willing to work with whoever on whatever in order to make ANY child feel safe and taken care of.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I really connected with a kid I taught in the Dominican Republic, even though we didn't speak the same language. My favorite nanny moment is when we said goodbye, and I was coming back home, and I was my last time to see him. He learned to say I love you as a three year old on English to say goodbye. I cried for 5 days over that and still do. He's about 8 by now.
