Hello there, I am Mikhayla, and I am interested in nannying for your family. I am 18, almost 19 years old, and I am a college student. I am a dance and gymnastics teacher. I have been babysitting since 2020, but stopped my freshman year of high school and started back up the summer of my senior year. Since I graduated from high school, I have been nannying a 4-month-old up until 11 months old. I have also been babysitting a 5 year old, 1 an almost 2-year-old since they were a newborn. I have also babysat a 6-year-old up until they were 10 years old, and still babysitting them til this day. I am certified in CPR, AED, and first aid. Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been a dance and gymnastics teacher since 2017. I love working with my students. I have also had the opportunity to work with special needs kids aged 6 -12 years old.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Taking them to the park, taking them to the pool, and to get ice cream ( If their parents allow it. I always ask for permission first.), going for walks, playing hide and seek, having dance parties, and going on scavenger hunts.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Ensuring their safety, well-being of the children in my care. While fostering and nurturing a loving environment. Meeting the kids' basic needs and building strong, secure attachments that promote the children's emotional, developmental needs and growth.

My experience with special needs children...

It was tough and challenging, but I was willing to take my time to learn how to work with them. I am also in the process of getting certified in working with special needs children. I get to work with special needs children at the place I work and help them with things that they are working on. I got to see them succeed in learning new things. The thing I loved most about working with those lovely kids was getting to build a relationship with them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I was getting to see the kids achieve their toughest challenges. What I loved most was when I walked in the door, and every time, the kids came running to me and jumped into my arms for a tight hug.
