I am about to be 21 years old and have recently graduated from Chatham University.
I have a three siblings and have grown up outside doing all kinds of activities. My hobbies include reading, playing sports, making food and new recipes, and pursuing my career in early childhood development.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Working as an after school educator for the past year at a local elementary school.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Playing basketball, football, catch, all sports!! I really enjoy cooking and baking with children, involving them in daily tasks. I also love board games and card games.
My brothers have recently been teaching me video games so I have been playing with them and some children as they express interest.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Having a balance of work and play. Where there is fun while also having structure to foster an environment conducive for the child to learn, be productive, enjoy their time, and of course to be a kid!
I believe having a solid routine that incorporates free play is the key to having a good relationship along with trust and openness with an open line of communication to the child, nanny, and parents.

My experience with special needs children...

I do not have any experience long term with children with diagnosed special needs. However, I have experience with children who have needed extra patience and individualized plans of care. I have openness and willingness to learn or be certified to accommodate needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

While working at the elementary school, the girls had taken such an interest in my personal life and helped me pick out nails, shoes, and dress for my graduation ceremony. It was so sweet the way that they were so excited to be a part of my life and take such an interest in a monumental moment in my life.
