Hi I’m Kendall! I am currently a student and working towards becoming a Special Education teacher. I am currently also employed as a toddler soccer coach, so I’m well prepared to handle more than a few energetic children. My passion lies in creating a fun, uplifting environment that caters to each and every child’s specific emotional/physical/social/and cognitive needs. I believe every kid deserves to be met where they’re at with kindness, grace, and patience. In my free time I enjoy going on bike rides, reading, and gardening. I will be turning 21 in October and a fun fact is I am also a certified welder!

Cutie Cuts Hair Salon (January 2016- September 2021; employed as a receptionist, however volunteered with the company for many events in association with behavioral centers specializing in ASD care, as well as fundraisers for Children With Hair Loss, a non-profit located within Michigan that donates wigs at no cost to children that may have alopecia, become terminally ill, etc.)

Baby Sitter (Growing up as the oldest sibling, I inherently became a built in babysitter by the time I was old enough to. I am also the oldest grandchild in my intermediate family, so I also had the chance of babysitting all of my younger cousins at-least once.)

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I personally love doing activities outside, and believe that sometimes getting a little messy is good, as long as there’s a cleanup involved after. I’ve encountered many toddlers, and done many different activities with them, but one thing I noticed is they truly, love to clean. They might not be good at it in terms of speed or efficiency, but overall majority enjoy the process of stacking, putting away, picking up what needs to be stored. I always prefer to present two choices and ask what it is they want to do, in order to improve not only their critical thinking/reasoning skills, but also to better understand their preferences for their sake, and mine. When indoors I do still believe it’s always a good time to do crafts, not so much on the messy side, something along the lines of paper projects or wooden stick figures. I am also a firm believer in that reading to/with a child should always be made fun and interesting to hopefully inspire a love for books.
