A little bit about me

Hello! I am new(ish) to the Miami area and looking for a part-time nanny position. I love children of all ages and have had experience with infants with special medical needs up to teens. I was in the fashion industry in NYC for 20 years and then moved to Miami with my husband in October 2022. I am happy to be out of the corporate world and would love to go back to something that fulfills my soul. I am as adept to helping with school work as I am to nurturing an infant. I am more than capable of cooking, baking, cleaning and doing fun things like arts and crafts with kids of all ages. I would love to find a kind and loving family to spend time and grow with. Thank you!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My mother ran a daycare from our home when I was in junior high school of which I was an active part of. I also was a live-in nanny in [phone number hidden] and again in [phone number hidden] for wonderful families in New Jersey and NYC.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Reading, singing, play-acting, arts & crafts of all kinds, playing indoors and outdoors (sports, playground...etc), museums, nature walks, swimming.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Trust and open communication with the parents. Trust that I will keep their child safe and that they will be cared for in a loving and kind manner with the utmost patience.

My experience with special needs children...

I was a nanny for 2 years in Closter, New Jersey for an infant born with a cleft lip and palate. He had special needs for feeding and had speech therapy once a week. Besides that, he often had medical appointments with specialists which I took him to regularly in Manhattan. I was responsible for relaying these meetings to his parents and keeping a log on his progress. He was a sweet and loving boy and we grew very attached as I was his primary caregiver (his parents worked long hours as doctors.)

The most important part about being a nanny...

Milestones...crawling, walking, first words, reading or just learning something new : ) Seeing them learn an instrument or ride a bike. Anything that lights up their face or makes them laugh is always a great moment.

My name is Ash. I’m a reliable and caring person who grew up in a close-knit Hispanic household, where helping take care of younger family members was just part of everyday life. That experience taught me patience, responsibility, and how to create a safe and welcoming environment for kids. I enjoy spending time with children, whether it’s helping with homework, keeping them entertained, or just making sure they feel comfortable and cared for.
