Hello! My name is Kerstyn, and I have over 10 years of experience working with children of various ages. I am a certified educator who takes pride in helping children create goals and overcome obstacles while meeting new milestones. As a licensed English LanguageLanguage Arts teacher, I am more than happy to assist with homework or supplemental tutoring if needed. When I work with children, I often encourage them to get creative and utilize their critical thinking skills. This is often done by providing art activities, reading-aloud, role-playing, and working with materials or objects that promote sensory play. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have extensive experience caring for and teaching children, having served as a Nanny, Assistant Director, and Center Director. I’ve supported at-risk children through in-home visits at a nonprofit, taught English to children in South Korea, and spent a great deal of my youth babysitting. I also served as a tutor and student teacher during college and have taught students on online platforms, giving me a strong foundation in both child care and education.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy a variety of activities with children, including playing outside, reading stories, having dance parties, doing art projects and creative activities, playing with Play-Doh, and exploring sensory experiences. I also enjoy taking children into the community, such as going to the park, going on walks, or visiting the library. I like to incorporate children’s interests into activities while keeping them engaged in a variety of fun and interactive ways.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being a nanny or a babysitter is all about trust, open communication, and integrity, but it’s also about having fun! I love building strong, positive relationships with kids and families, creating a caring and loving environment where children feel safe, supported, and encouraged to explore. I enjoy making each day playful and engaging, while also being a positive role model that kids can look up to!

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience caring for children with a variety of special needs, including autism and Down syndrome, as well as supporting children with allergies and other individual needs. I’ve worked with children at different levels of ability, creating a supportive and inclusive environment where every child can learn, play, and thrive.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moments are seeing children accomplish new milestones such as taking their first steps, saying their first words, learning to ride a bike, or even mastering a tricky puzzle. Helping children gain independence, build confidence, and learn to advocate for themselves is incredibly rewarding and makes every day special!
