I have nannied several children and families long term throughout the years, as well as cared for my four children and 5 grandchildren. I have worked in nursery school and preschools for years in the past. I've been a room mother and aid in classrooms, as well.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love reading, playing games, coloring, going on walks, and praising children as they show me their tricks on bikes and trampolines, twirl in a tutu, and dribble a basketball. If you feel comfortable, I love allowing the children to help me prepare food or do laundry if they are interested. I also love going over flashcards and helping them study.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Recognizing the importance of these years in your child's life is what drives me to be nurturing, loving, and strong to and for the child. These are formative years. A negative experience with a sitter can be a detriment, whereas a positive one can be the opposite.
