A little bit about me

Hi! I'm currently a Freshman going into my Sophomore year at WSU. I will be back home in Brentwood CA, and am looking for a great family to work for and gain a great relationship with! I have had experience working with many families, but three families on a consistent basis babysitting and nannying. Along with that, I was part of the TLC program where I interned at Loma Vista Elementary and worked and cared for Kindergarteners. I genuinely love children and love not only being a part of their development, but gaining amazing professional relationships with them. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I work at Loma Vista Elementary school as an intern for a Kindergarten class. Throughout the internship I successfully manage the students in the class, help with math, English, and art lessons, and gain relationships with each and every student. Along with that I've had years of experience babysitting for numerous families.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I'm a very outdoorsy person, but I'm also a very creative and artistic person. When babysitting If families are comfortable enough I have no problem with taking children on small hikes or walks, and also notice the importance of taking children to simple things such as parks. However, because of my creative side I've learned many art lessons fit for numerous ages that I would absolutely love to incorporate. I love to color, especially in coloring books and I find that when I'm coloring with children instead of watching them color it keeps them engaged and is also a bonding experience.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I would say the most important part about being a nanny apart from safely managing the child/children, is balancing all of the aspects of a child's life, such as their mental needs, but also their emotional needs. Especially for younger children, that time of their life is extremely detrimental to the rest of their development, and so be engaged and doing activities with a child instead of sitting them in front of a television is in my opinion the most important part, as sometimes with how busy parents are they can't always do that.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The time's I personally value with children most is when a child who might be quieter or more of an 'introvert' finally opens up to me, which is the kind of thing I see often within my internship.
