A little bit about me

Hi! I just moved here from Chicago. I have been a teacher in Elementary and Special Education for eleven years. I also have a master's degree in special education. I have been babysitting and nannying since I was 15 years old. I have worked with many families over the years in homes and in classrooms. I love supporting families with any support that is needed. I also believe in the importance of academics, social emotional learning, as well as play based fun. My main philosophy for supporting families is that children need a structured and loving home environment that is applicable to their unique needs. I would love to work with your family and provide the extra support you need that ensures your families productivity!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

In a self contained classroom as a teacher for children with severe and profound special needs.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Anything to allow children to explore and utilize play based learning. As well as providing them structured and personalized activities that support their social, emotional, or physical growth.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is the support that you bring to families, children, and home. As a thoughtful, structured, and kind nanny you bring families a sense of stability and support to their family dynamic. As well as being a figure that families know they can trust to maintain their children's safety as well as maintain their home.

My experience with special needs children...

I have a masters degree in special education from Loyola University of Chicago. I had three years of teaching experience as a special education resource teacher in Chicago Public Schools for grades K-3. As well as I have worked in multiple therapeutic day school settings as a self contained teacher supporting and teaching students with various needs including physical, social emotional, and intellectual disabilities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment is when I was able to help one of my children overcome his fear of the water. He was a child with autism and was severely afraid of the water. I was able to incorporate different interactions with water for him to feel comfortable with introducing him to water. Finally after utilizing his love of dinosaurs I purchased him dinosaur floatation devices so that he could feel comfortable while sitting in the water. It was a joy for his parents because he was able to gain access to water without fear. As well as the joy it brought me to help him overcome that fair and gain a new skill.
