A little bit about me

In 2014, I became a nanny for a 6 month old baby girl. In 2016, the family welcomed another baby daughter. I was lucky to watch these 2 girls grow from infants into young ladies who are now 9 and almost 7. The family moved away but they left me with so many beautiful memories and experiences that will stay with me forever. In the beginning I heard some of the first words, changed diapers, read the same books over and over until I didn’t have to look at the pages anymore, and took on the joy of potty training. Before I knew it, they could ride bikes without training wheels, I was watching dance/gymnastics lessons, and in a blink of an eye they were reading chapter books to me. When I took the job my goal was to be a teacher, to help around the house, be a friend, and someone to have fun with. Nine years of growth, joy, pride, challenges, and love. I’m forever a part of their family and two little girls are the greatest friends I’ve ever had. It’s bittersweet, but I love being a nanny.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Most recently I was a full time nanny for a family for almost 9 years. I’ve also had babysitting jobs on the side but I try to stay committed to one family because I’m use to being “on call” when possible.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Indoor:
-Crafts (Infant mess free painting, tie dye shirt, making edible moon sand, holiday themed crafts)
-Building forts
-Reading books
-Doing Puzzles
-Legos!
-Science projects
-Baking/decorating treats
-Letting kids help put together lunches or snacks
-Dance parties/dress up/ At home Spa Day with the older kids
-Music
-With infant and toddler I’ve done things like putting a small kitty/blow up pool in the play area and filling it with balls, stuffed animals, and books
(I try to keep kids off of the TV/electronics as much as I can because I value hands on experiences)

Outside:
-Older kids taking trips to the pool (I have experience in competitive swimming and water safety)
-Outdoor (messy) crafts
-Sledding/building snowman
-Slip and slide!
-Going for walks, packing up toys, and going in play picnics

Putting the needs of the child first. The safety, growth/development, trust, and welling being of the child come before anything.

Cannot be put into words. After nine years with the same 2 girls, I don’t think it’s possible to pick a favorite moment. I can only write 1000 characters and that would never do my stories justice by trying to summarize the many unforgettable moments I’ve had as a nanny.
